How to Set Up Your Closet for Success

s we begin to set goals for

ourselves in the new year,

I hope we can all continue

to focus on the little things. Whether that’s being proud of yourself for successfully getting out of bed in the morning, putting on real clothes, taking a shower, making a home cooked meal, or getting a workout in. These mundane tasks that used to be second nature have become measurements of success over the last year, and I’m here for it. Why put so much pressure on ourselves as the new year arrives to take leaps and bounds into uncharted territory only to leave ourselves feeling like failures when the state of the world makes it seem impossible to accomplish our hefty goals. Let’s start small, take a deep breath, and know that this year’s success may look a little different.

With that being said, I have always felt more successful when I cross something off my “to-do” list. I have tiers of “to-do’s” and the most pertinent stay towards the top and the less time sensitive float to the bottom until the year comes to an end and that same damn task is still floating around down there at the bottom of my list. My clients always tell me that their closet organization goals get put to the bottom of their “to-do” list until they just become unmanageable which is where I step in! January is the perfect time to put a big fat line through that item so you can move on to bigger and better successes this year - like finding time to finish your cup of coffee, going for a daily walk, or making your bed.
