game (in this case business), identifying my strong suits, and figuring out how to put myself in a position to win!

DC – Tell me about your latest technology project(s) that you’ve recently launched and why you’re excited about them.

RM – I’ve paused tech investing for the time being. As I mentioned, there is life and good opportunities outside of tech. My latest business, SWZLE, tackles the massive problem of plastic pollution and waste, starting with straws. Legislation has been sweeping across the country banning plastic straws so it’s a good time to be in the business because it has everyone’s attention and favorable government regulation.

We have a consumer offering, the SWZLE Straw Pack, that comes 2 stainless steel straws and 1 cleaning brush in an eco-chic case. It fits easily in your work bag, purse, or pocket and allows you to practice eco-friendliness on an individual level. Additionally, we sell paper straws on the commercial level to restaurant groups, hospitality companies, etc.

DC - What is your most useful tip for a successful “grind in business?

RM – I try to keep things as simple as possible. The entrepreneur journey is grueling but self-maintenance is key and will allow you to maintain any challenge. That being said, I really like the quote by Jim Rohn – “Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.”
