I am proud to say that this year, SFF will have 40% of the directors’ chairs filled by women. Redford, in a recent press release stated, “I’m energized by new voices of youth and women in power. They are playing a role in sweeping the stage---their emerging leadership can lead the way and I’ve seen the promise of their involvement and their ideas.”
Festival films typically reflect the current state of affairs both near and far, connecting us as one, and Sundance is just the place to see what filmmakers from the U.S. and 151 other countries have to say from their perspective. Sorting through the 112 feature films, there are short and feature documentaries, creative narrative features with unknown talent, and feature films with Hollywood A-Listers. While nearly impossible to see all 112, here are just a few that will be on my list at the festival.
