The New Year can be a time for new beginnings. New habits and resolutions abound as we get a fresh start on accomplishing our goals during this trip around the sun. For me, I’m using 2019 to reset my career path and redefine success, both in my personal and professional life.
I’ve followed a rather traditional trajectory. I graduated with a biology degree from college, worked in a science lab, completed my PhD in neuroscience, and managed consumer research at a global consumer goods company. I am lucky to have had the educational and career opportunities that enabled me to achieve what I have thus far. On paper, I’m successful both academically and in my career. But something was missing, and I was determined to find out what that was.
