5.Experiential

The one element that you want guests to leave with is an experience. This is where you can utilize your creative juices. My definition of an experience is when people learn something, feel something, or witness something. I once hosted a wine and massage event, a Moroccan themed event complete with a belly dancer, and a “Fete and Fashion” 4 courses sit down dinner capped off with a twenty minute fashion show. Each of those events was memorable and guests left with a sense of satisfaction that their night was well spent. If you’re able to, provide guests with a gift bag or tangible item that represents the evening upon their departure. It will further solidify the amazing time they had at your party and will serve as a reminder that they need to attend your next bash..

Throwing parties can be a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. Most of all make sure that you have a great time and take in the moment. Don’t be afraid to hire help or ask friends to assist you in some way. Once the last guests have left you should feel like you just threw the best party of the year!
