Another time, I transformed my patio into a small Italian village. I served authentic carbonara at a long family style table with an abundance of fine Italian wine and Andrea Bocelli serenading softly in the background. Then, there was the time my house became the belly of a real pirate ship with a giant wine barrel holding grog (rum punch) and a kitschy pirate photo booth to document the night. And I can’t forget the time I hosted a lively Mexican fiesta complete with Mariachi band. The Masquerade Ball of 2010 was quite the affair. My guests went all out with amazing costumes. (Mental note: Marie Antoinette was not a good look for me)
