Black History Month invites reflection on legacy. When you think about the women who came before you, what lessons guide how you lead today?
I think about the resilience of Black women and how they lead without recognition, build without resources, and pour into others while often being overlooked themselves. The lesson that stays with me is stewardship. I lead with the
understanding that my success is not mine alone; it’s connected to the sacrifices and courage of women who came before me. And that awareness shapes how intentional I am about mentorship, access, and creating pathways for other women to thrive.
The Private Plug ™ centers conversation as a form of currency. Share the kind of dialogue you believe are missing in traditional networking spaces.
Traditional networking spaces often prioritize optics over honesty. What’s missing are conversations about real challenges—failure, financial literacy, boundaries, identity, and the unspoken rules that shape professional growth. Too often, women are exchanging titles without ever being invited to share context, nuance, or lived experience. We intentionally create space for dialogue that is layered and human. It’s not just “What do you do?” but “Who are you becoming?” We bring together women from different industries and backgrounds; corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives, attorneys, technologists, women of different races and life experiences. Because diverse perspectives change the quality of conversation. That diversity isn’t symbolic; it’s strategic. Different lenses surface new insights, challenge assumptions, and expand what feels possible in real time. Those conversations build trust. And trust is the most valuable currency in any room. When women feel seen, heard, and understood, connection deepens, collaboration becomes natural, and the impact extends far beyond the table.
