CynCity Productions, the Chicago-based production company rooted in creative ownership, equity, and artist development, hosted the official trailer premier for independent comedy-drama series, Messy Lola. The event took place at in Chicago welcoming guests to walk the red carpet, meet the cast and creative team, and celebrate a series that boldly proves sometimes the mess is the main character.
The 10-episode season rolled out at the beginning of 2026. Starring Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Messy Lola centers on Lola, an expert at managing the mess, just not her own. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Chicago, the series explores adulthood in all its beautiful disorder, including work, reluctant motherhood, dating, and the possibility that a lot of us are walking around with undiagnosed mental health issues, as Lola attempts to maintain control over a life that is, by her own design, messy.
Shot entirely on location in Chicago, Messy Lola also serves as a groundbreaking “Teaching Set”—a living investment in local talent. CynCity Productions intentionally paired seasoned industry professionals with emerging Chicago creatives to provide hands-on mentorship across departments.
