A leader manifests themselves in many different forms. Which leaders have you modeled yourself after and what does that leadership look like?
When I think of leadership, I think of those leaders who are at the front leading through action and through service – almost a follow me approach, rather than a “You go do it” approach. I want to be that kind of leader.
I believe in trying to lead from a place of love. When you’re leading, there is going to be conflict – people are going to agree and disagree, so despite whether there is acceptance or resistance to a situation, it’s important to lead with love. The team needs to know that even if we disagree there is still love and that keeps the energy around what is being built positive.
There isn’t necessarily one leader who has influenced me. Those traits come from very different people, watching how they have worked and managed. Coming from a sports background, the best leaders really get after it. They may be the most talented, but they work extremely hard. Their actions of really putting in the WORK define why they are so great. For me that’s where I’ve gleaned my style of leadership.
