t’s one thing to focus on yourself, to exercise and meditate and have

positive self-talk when life’s stresses aren’t piling on. Often by choice or

necessity, most of us have mountains of responsibilities. Family, busy

jobs, personal life, and more.

On one hand, there’s an art here to not take on too much. But, we can’t always predict life’s obstacles. And okay, motivated, high-achieving people also tend to say yes to too much.

In my life, over the next six weeks I’m buying a home, selling a business while still operating as CEO, onboarding 14 new team members, planning a wedding and getting married, hosting retreats, and will cap it off with a honeymoon.

So yes, it’s a busy time for me. Throughout this period at times, I’ve struggled to keep my own “inner energy” — as we call it at Own It — in balance. This is normal, natural, and expected. Yet I’m also proud of myself for the steps I’ve taken to continue to prioritize myself even amidst chaos.

With these small steps I’ve kept my stress manageable, stayed healthy, and still been able to enjoy life and whatever it throws at me.
