As the editor of Fete Lifestyle Magazine, it is my privilege to support our contributors as they share their stories. Every month I get to learn new things, see new places I might wish to travel to (one day), and be inspired by tales of overcoming hardship or success against all odds. And often, I get to laugh, really hard. This month was no exception. As we navigate the devastating consequences of a pandemic and continue to learn our uncomfortable truths during Black History Month, sometimes all we can do to face another day is add a healthy dose of humor. For some, reality TV is the answer, while others put pen to paper and shock the world … you’ll have to read this issue to know what I mean. One of my favorite stories this month took me back to my early days in Palm Springs watching boxing Olympic hopefuls train with some of the best coaches around. Yes, that’s me with one of the greatest boxers of all time, Sugar Ray Leonard, in Las Vegas, a long time ago. Which story is your favorite story this month?
