Relationships are funny things. Some folks dream of being in a long-term romantic relationship. Others resist the notion of being tied down. Wherever you fall in that continuum, I bet you have at least spent time thinking about the person you’d like to spend time with, or perhaps even wishing you hadn’t spent so much time with a certain other someone. Here in the US we celebrate Valentine’s Day, which I have come to consider a strange holiday. It is the one day that people are supposed to be thoughtful and romantic. And if you don’t have that special love, you might just feel left out.

Fortunately, whether you’re single or not, there are many alternatives to braving what might be one of the restaurant industries biggest nights of the year – aka “amateur night” in my book. So, for next year, you can opt out of February 14th altogether, because you don’t have to surrender to the peer pressure of a Hallmark holiday. Or you can officially boycott love and join the growing trend of Anti-Valentine’s Day bar night bash parties. Finally, you could head out for “Galentine’s Day” the night before to enjoy a night out with your single girlfriends. Yes, there’s something for everyone.

While our focus this month is on relationships, we always provide a variety of topics from our fabulous contributors from around the globe, including sharing tips and insights on film, beauty, travel, current issues and more. We hope you enjoy!
