For Chairs, and for all of the youth at Covenant House, the community of people who care continues to grow...

At CHIL’s inaugural Sleep Out last November, more than 60 participants spent a night on the streets in solidarity with homeless youth, raising more than $160,000. CHIL counts Morgan Stanley, Accenture, Grainger, and Cisco among its corporate supporters, as well as Harvey, IL native, actor LaRoyce Hawkins, who stops by to have lunch, mingle with the youth and showcase the latest episode of NBC’s Chicago PD.

Covenant House Illinois is currently led by Interim Executive Director Carlette Mack, whose 22 years of service with Covenant House could be considered a "family affair" (her mother worked for Covenant House as a case manager for 13 years in Alaska). Mack left her role as COO of Covenant House Alaska to lead the Chicago location during its critical early stages. Her dedication to serving youth was instilled in her from an early age and her daily work is guided by the mission of ensuring that our community’s youth receive the support and resources needed to transition to successful and stable adulthood.

In the last year, more than 260 young people have found support, respect, love, and community at Covenant House Illinois. It is the collaborative and compassionate spirit of community that will continue to allow CHIL and its youth to not only survive, but to embrace the great promise of their lives.
