here was never a time in my life when I wondered what people would say or think when they saw our distinctly different shades together. I am loved by a man who appreciates who I am and all that I am. While he may also appreciate outward beauty, this is not what motivates him. It has taken me a while to realize this, but it could be illustrated by his perfectly organized photo album of misfit shots of me. They aren’t glamorous or frame-worthy. Nothing like the photos I take of him with a wonderful backdrop, perfectly lit and cropped. No, the ones he takes capture funny moments like me eating a blue moon ice cream cone or doing a dance while playing ping pong with his nephew. He basically keeps all the ones I would never like. But he does. He loves them and all that they represent. And so I love him even more.
