This February, we at Fete Lifestyle Magazine honor love in all its many forms, shapes, colors and expressions from our multitalented Broadway star Shannon who shares how the laws of attraction can bring love and happiness your way and how you deserve at least that in your life, to our relationship guru Erika that teaches us how to bring more love into our lives, from the dynamic and independent Stephanie that might shock you as she blatantly takes a lover, to our on-the-move millennial Alex as she falls in love with being single as she travels abroad.
As you know we at FLM have a love of film and fashion. This month our fabulous film critic Pamela shares the “ins & outs” of the Sundance Film Festival, including what you didn’t know about all the amazing philanthropy that is inspiring younger generations to move up in the ranks of cinematic success and the growing focus on Indie films that make a difference.
We are super excited to introduce you to one of our newest contributors Jasmeen, who this month blew us away with her amazing experiences in India’s fashion world that is just as much about deep rooted traditional artisanry as it is about cutting edge couture. We hope to continue to share more of the international fashion scene with you.
As always our beauty expert Josie shares her favorite makeup ideas and with this month’s Beauty Products That Will Make You Fall In LOVE, Josie ups the ante with her gift advice for thinking outside the normal Valentine’s box of candy and flowers.
In her first contribution to FLM, newcomer Shermin reminds us of the enduring love of family and the adjustments we can be forced to make when life, liberty and our very culture are under attack. I am so excited to introduce Shermin’s story as it is so pertinent to issues we are facing in the world today with the abundance of ignorance and intolerance in immigration and she gives a different and more human point of view that reminds us to consider humanity and loved ones, bonds that extend past boundaries and laws … which brings me to my personal acknowledgment of the 50 year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s landmark decision to make legal interracial marriage in all 50 US states with the Loving v. Virginia decision. And I toss in a little walk down memory lane to share more stories of love that transcend boundaries of race, laws and history because after all, February is Black History Month too. So whether your loved one is your spouse, partner, parent, baby, pet, bff, or that off limits crush, this month we ask you to sit back and let all kinds of love in.
You know those songs when the moment you hear the first few chords you are transported right back to that moment … well I leave you with a little romance … my wedding song! It will always make me smile and feel the magic of love. What’s your love moment?
