3. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – Who didn’t want to be like Ferris Bueller as a teenager? This movie had all of my friends wanting to skip school and try their luck at enjoying the day off (even though I did not partake). The comedic aspects of the film coupled with a few real moments allowed kids to resonate with the plot of the movie. I think that every high school had a Ferris Bueller and a jealous sibling wanting to get their brother or sister into trouble. The characters were relatable; the settings were fun and the overall theme of the movie had a significant historical impact on the teenage audience.
2. Forrest Gump – Being one of my favorite movies of all-time, Tom Hanks portrayal of the slow-witted, but good natured Forrest Gump was epic. This movie left me feeling happy, sad, inspired and glad. It helped me to understand that sometimes the simplest and most innocent moments in life can make a huge impact. The relationships highlighted in this film touched on every level. Although Forrest was challenged by a few enemies, Jenny, Bubba, Lieutenant Dan and his Momma were his inspiration in helping him overcome many obstacles. It certainly is true that “Life is like a box of chocolates.” I often find myself still quoting that line from the movie every now and then.
