Love is music to your ears! Studies show that one of the only activities that activates, stimulates and uses the entire brain is MUSIC. I’ve used music to forget and I’ve used music to remember. But this Valentine’s Day why not use it to set the mood for love? They say “Music is what feelings sound like” so how will your Valentine’s Day sound? Perhaps a little like Barry White or maybe Andrea Bocelli. If you and your sweetheart don’t already have a song, then you need to adopt one. Mine is “At Last” by Etta James. My husband and I danced to it at our wedding and now every time we hear it, we stop and look at each other and remember that feeling we had on our wedding day. Music is powerful stuff. When you’re at a loss for words? Music is there for you. Find the one song that says how you feel. “All of Me” by John Legend would be a good one. There are so many songs to choose from and plenty of websites to help you search for the perfect soundtrack for your romantic evening.
Here are a few ways to use music for Valentine’s Day:
1. Call your local radio station and make an on-air dedication of your favorite love song. (Plan what you’ll say first and keep it brief.)
2. Pick up one of those fun Valentine's cards that play a song when you open them up.
3. Take them to a concert of a romantic artist.
4. Burn a CD of all of your favorite love songs to play in the background later that night (wink wink).
5. This one is a little more difficult but you can take your best shot at singing a romantic song to your sweetheart.
A song can change your mood, thoughts and emotions. Just remember, if it comes from your heart…you can’t go wrong. ~Susan
