id you know

that more than

90% of your life

is lived from the subconscious mind according to neuroscientists? This means that you are only consciously aware of 10% of how you live from day to day. Your beliefs, thoughts, emotions and actions are a set of habits that have been formed since childhood. Do you sometimes wonder why you seem to impulsively do or say things? Do you make a plan and things don’t go accordingly. Do you wake up and go through the same routine without even thinking about it? These are instances where you might be living from your subconscious mind. I call this your default mode.

The good thing is that your subconscious mind is always moving you towards life. It is responsible for maintaining your vital functions whether you are asleep or awake; its job is to keep you alive and intuitively knows how to heal your body. The divine nature of the subconscious mind is life, health, and harmony.

What most people aren’t aware of however, is that the subconscious mind is amenable to suggestion. The natural rhythm of the subconscious mind is disrupted when you think negatively. Patterns of lack and limitation interfere with our natural proclivity towards abundance and harmony. Furthermore, the subconscious does not judge you. It does not know the difference between what is real or imagined, what is good or bad, or what is right or wrong. It simply accepts as true whatever you impress upon it with your habitual thoughts and self-talk.

The subconscious mind responds to your habitual thinking and the words you speak. Neuroscientists have estimated that humans have 60,000 thoughts a day and that 90% of your thoughts are the same, day in and day out. So what you think about all day influences how you experience yourself. For example, if you tell yourself that you can’t do something, then you will experience challenges in completing the task. If you tell yourself that you can do something, then you will experience solutions to completing the task. Simply put, you get what you believe to be true and expect.

Now that it has been brought to your conscious awareness that you have been living from your subconscious program, it is time to get more intentional about how you want to live. Being intentional means making a decision about what you want to experience. When your subconscious mind accepts an idea as truth it works with the energy of the universe to bring it into your now experience. Reprogramming your mind takes conscious effort. Here are 7 rules to reprogram your subconscious and help you begin to live more intentionally.
