going on and why does that feel out of alignment?” This allows me to dig deeper into the cause, which ultimately helps me make that shift in my life to bring myself back.

With that free space in my body, mind, and spirit, I can come to conclusions that will support me in making decisions in alignment with who I am. This allows me to constantly course correct to make sure I’m living in my purpose.

There are plenty of other strategies that can accomplish this. It’s become very in vogue the last few years to meditate, even for driven, type-A people. You can add this as a prompt in your meditation practice. Breath work, cold immersion or sauna, or any type of physical activity that helps you stay present is also a great time for this practice. If you work with a coach or therapist, this might be the type of prompt worth discussing with them.

Pending all of that, maybe you just need some downtime. Take a Friday off and let yourself be bored. Wonder, explore, and be introspective. These aren’t easy questions and they shouldn’t feel rushed. As long as you create that space to tap into your internal self and assess where you need to adjust, you’ll find yourself moving towards alignment and the peace and vigor that comes with it.
