The theme of this issue is “Transition”—the idea that change can be subtle, intentional, and empowering. If you could talk to the younger Adam Amin standing at the beginning of his career, what would you tell him about embracing the transitions that were coming his way?
I would tell him that most change is subtle and slow and painstaking and is the result of being conscientious of your strengths and weaknesses and trying your best to improve them. Embrace this process and don’t beat yourself up over the mistakes you perceive to be “a step back.” Those are learning experiences and they have value. It’s all cumulative and it’s going to pay off in the future.
