For Adam Amin, the journey from calling games in a small market to becoming one of the most recognizable voices in sports broadcasting has been built on talent, persistence, preparation, and an incredible work ethic shaped by his immigrant parents. Today, Amin lends his
voice to some of the biggest stages in sports, calling NFL, NBA and MLB games while
earning a reputation for bringing energy, authenticity and perspective to every broadcast.
But Adam’s transitions don’t stop when the final whistle blows. One night, he can be behind the microphone calling a high-profile professional game; hours later, he may be behind the DJ booth, trading play-by-play for a playlist and entertaining a completely different crowd. It’s a unique duality that perfectly captures the spirit of this month’s issue.
Our photoshoot with Adam followed that journey. We started at the United Center, where Adam calls games for the Chicago Bulls, before transitioning downtown to Originals Hair Salon, a place he has trusted for more than 14 years. Watching Adam interact with the staff, it was clear that relationships are just as important to him as the career milestones. These aren’t simply people who cut his hair, they’re part of his Chicago story.
As Adam continues to make his mark in the broadcasting world, his journey is a reminder that transitions aren’t always about leaving one thing behind. Sometimes, they’re about taking everything you’ve learned, every relationship you’ve built and every opportunity you’ve earned and carrying it with you to the next stage.
