Everyone Is Dating… But Nobody Is Really Connecting
Dating apps definitely made it easier to meet people. In fact, they may have made it too easy. With just a few swipes, you can connect with dozens—or even hundreds—of potential matches. On the surface, that sounds like a good thing. But having so many options has also changed the way people approach dating.
Instead of focusing on one
person and seeing where things go, it's easy to wonder if
someone "better" is just one more swipe away. Instead of investing in a connection, many people keep browsing. Instead of fully showing up, they leave one foot out the door—just in case.
The result? Conversations that start off with excitement but quickly fizzle out. First dates that are enjoyable but never lead to a second. And countless "almost relationships" that
seem promising but never grow into anything real. The truth is, it's not that people have forgotten how to connect. It's that their attention is constantly being pulled in a dozen different directions. When you're always wondering what else might be out there, it's hard to give the person right in front of you a real chance.
