Troy's unique story is one that needs to be shared. He enjoyed art as a young kid and picked back up at 21 as a way of staying busy while getting sober and turning his life around. His passion and focus has led to a successful career working in the industry he loves. Through his hard work and determination, Troy has been able to redirect his pain and discover an avenue he is passionate about and he uses this medium to tell his story, to better himself, to bring happiness through art to others and to cast light on the many experiences he endured through years of addiction and recovery. Beyond art as an avenue for expressing his creativity, he uses it as a charitable platform to help others, as a way to make a larger impact in the world, whether it’s through teaching art to children in countries across the globe, or donating a portion of the proceeds from his work to the Premier foundation based out of Greenville, SC.
“Serena for HOA” - This piece was created for the flagship "House of Athlete" location which is a state of the art athletic/fitness training facility founded by Brandon Marshall. So much goes on behind the scenes in every profession/craft & while often unrecognized, it is the foundation that takes every athlete/artist from great to exceptional. A HOUSE only stands as strong as its FOUNDATION.
Artistic Process: First Troy created the TRIBE letters in his studio in Los Angeles using foam, coated in resin and then painted the letters to look like concrete. He then wired them to be backlit by LED lights. Once complete he shipped them down to Weston, Florida where Troy painted the mural of Serena Williams using spray paint, and then installed the letters on top.
