The summer is coming to a close, but not without a lot of fun memories to look back upon. I was able to hit a few of my favorite Chicago street festivals that came back after a couple of years, cruised Lake Michigan on a couple of yachts (good to have friends with boats), dined alfresco with the family at new restaurants, hung on the rooftop for cocktails at others, and took a quick trip to Aspen. The weather in the Windy City may have been the best we’ve had in a number of summers, so that in itself was something to be grateful for. Now onto fall. Football season, cooler temps, and the changing colors. Arguably the best season of all seasons.
It's not lost on me that the years are going by fast. Too fast in-fact! My oldest just started his freshman year in high school and my youngest is on track to be bigger than me in a few years and all of that is just insane to me! However, I know that there are many families who wish that they were in my position, because they will not be able to watch their kids grow up, AND, that’s insane to them! So, I am thankful. Very thankful! As you move forward through your day-to-day life challenges and things start to get a little stressed, or even a lot stressed, take a moment to reflect and think about those that would switch places with you in a heartbeat.
