Publisher's Note

It’s been a busy summer. Trips, dips, and flips. At least for my two young boys there were dips and flips, but for me, not so much. My anticipation going into June was that it was going to be an epic summer, and it lived up to my expectation. It’s hard to imagine, and somewhat sad, that it’s coming to an end so soon, but we have a lot to look forward to this fall, especially compared to what we went through last year. Although the pandemic is still hanging around, at least most kids will be back in school, fans will be in the stands during football games, and restaurants are fully opened again… for now. Hopefully everyone will get vaccinated so that the mask mandates will go away for good.

This month’s theme is “Anything Goes”. I view this as a fun issue, which is full of topics that are on top of mind of our contributors. There are a few fun articles that stand out that highlight punk rock and Riot Fest, man’s best friend, and not creating your bucket list. Also, be sure to check out this month’s FLM On the Scene. I was invited to saber a champagne bottle during a polo match and although I was a little nervous before my attempt, I was able to pop the cork on the first try. Don’t try it at home folks! You can see me enjoying a glass of bubbly in the photo with my friend Scott Reed. The thrill of victory! Enjoy FLM August and have a great rest of the summer.
