A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Of course, there are more than ten films on my “must-see” list and here are a few additional films that piqued my interest:

“Greed,” Michael Winterbottom’s film starring Steve Coogan in a farcical tale about the life of a fashion tycoon; “Bad Education” starring Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney delves comedically into the biggest public school embezzlement scam in history; “Jojo Rabbit,” directed by Taika Waititi, tells the comedic story about a young boy whose pretend friend is Hitler and whose family is hiding a Jewish girl during WWII; “Dolemite Is My Name” stars Eddie Murphy as a Blaxploitation filmmaker; and “The Lighthouse” is an

eerie and mysterious tale about two lighthouse keepers in New England, starring Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson.

The eleven-day festival which begins September 5 and runs through September 15 is open to the public. While the festival is filled with great movies, star-studded red carpets, and a few parties, TIFF also prides itself on its education and outreach programs, filmmaker development helping new filmmakers reach their goals, and preservation of films and their history throughout the year.
