Chicago has a unique cultural energy— describe how the city influenced your work and your vision for the brand.
Chicago is a hot bed of talent in all areas, in fashion it’s multifaceted. Street, urban,
prom avant garde, high fashion all reside in Chicago. I just wish there was an eco-system that was built to support, encourage, and grow it. For me the last two years have been amazing. Watching it get better and more unified has encouraged me to work
harder, bigger, better, strive for more and be stubborn in my execution and showmanship. This is slowly solidifying my brand and has moved me into doing solo shows with a bigger audience. I’m being extremely picky when doing collaborative shows.
As you look ahead, what legacy do you hope to build through your designs and your atelier?
Lol, legacy. I don’t know about that, but I do want to give back. Train, teach, raise the bar, and build an eco-system that benefits everyone. I want to help bring Chicago to the fore, raise the game, make it a contender or the leader for Midwest fashion week, but most of all I want to have fun, break into new arenas, dress lots of people make the world a prettier place. You know style can NEVER be bought , but a lot of people will go broke trying.
