evolution that reflects both Miami’s vibrant cultural landscape and the ICA’s role as a dynamic platform for contemporary expression.
A World of Italian Fantasy
At the heart of the exhibition lies the singular vision of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the duo behind Dolce & Gabbana. Since founding their house in 1984, the designers have cultivated a universe where Italian identity is both muse and medium—infused with sensuality, theatricality, and a distinctly irreverent charm.
Their work is unmistakable: a collision of past and present, sacred and profane, opulence and wit. From Sicilian baroque influences to cinematic nods to la dolce vita, Dolce and Gabbana have consistently translated heritage into high fashion with a deeply personal, almost narrative sensibility.
The Art of Making
Curated by Florence Müller—one of the foremost voices in fashion curation globally—the exhibition unfolds as a multisensory journey through more than 300 pieces, spanning archival treasures and new creations. Müller, whose career includes landmark retrospectives on designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior, brings both scholarly rigor and poetic nuance to the project.
