Describe your experience competing collegiately at the University of Tennessee and professionally in Europe and the level of commitment it took to excel at both.
Earning a full-ride volleyball scholarship to the University of Tennessee and playing at the Division 1 level was the most formative experience as a young adult. From age 13, I began developing lifelong skills (i.e. time-management, teamwork, and task prioritization) that directly translated to my post-athletics career while also developing techniques for high-performance (visualization, positive self-talk, goal setting). Excelling at both required commitment, sacrifice, dedication and above all else discipline which I’ve managed to continue living into. I sometimes experienced internal friction during my younger years of wanting a “normal” collegiate student experience but looking back, I could not imagine what my life would look like now without all the opportunities I was provided through sports.
