Admitting You Are Wrong…

3.Creates space for others to be honest. It does not minimize or discount your wrongdoing; it only makes you accountable for your actions. Being in a relationship means there are two people involved; two sets of beliefs, thoughts, feelings and actions. When you initiate an honest conversation about making a mistake, intentional or unintentional, it allows the other person an opportunity to admit if they were also wrong for what they said or how they acted. Being the first to admit when you are wrong takes courage and earns respect. The person may not like what you have to say, but they can respect you for being honest about what you think and how you feel. I often say the only person you are in control of is you. The only person you can change is you. Being honest with yourself and also being honest with others is self-empowering.
