WR: Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your latest collection for the upcoming runway show?
BP: The inspiration for my Latest Collection King's Kourt comes from my obsession with King's from the 17th Century. More specifically with King Louie XIV of Versailles
WR: What are the key themes or trends that we can expect to see in your new collection?
BP: For this collection I'm having my first retrospective. Being that I'm inspired by the past, I'm showing some of my favorite pieces from my beginning. Then I will show a sneak peek of King's Kourt Unplugged that will take the stage in June.
WR: How does the location of the runway show influence the overall ambiance and presentation of your designs?
BP: I'm a big on concepts from Visual to Music. I am a storyteller. It is very important to me that my audience walks into my shows and feels what I'm feeling. Even better if this feeling can come without me saying a word. This means the venue is just as important to me. Complete Cohesion is a must or the artist in me isn't happy.
WR: Can you walk us through the creative process of putting together a runway show from start to finish?
BP: My creative process is often different from Season to Season. It can depend on the story, a situation, and even my mood. Since I don't put on typical runway shows, the creative process is anything but typical and consistent. One Season, I may be inspired by fabric the most. Or it could be a song. Maybe a situation that I just came out of sparks my creative process and drives the concept.
WR: What challenges did you face while preparing for this runway show, and how did you overcome them?
BP: That's funny. I feel that I'm still facing them. There's always something to overcome. The biggest challenge this Season seems to be a lot of my regular help isn't available to work this show. This means more tasks fall upon me.
WR: What do you hope the audience takes away from experiencing your collection on the runway?
BP: I hope that the audience walks away feeling moved, touched, and emotional once they experience his and any of my shows. My number one goal is to make me happy. Then to take my guest on an amazing escape from wherever they are coming from. I want to give them the best evening possible.
