lives, has gone virtual for convenience. But it's one place that was essential during the past few years, someplace that didn't get locked down and NewsNation anchor Adrienne Bankert realized it was essential for a number of reasons.
She reflected on how we used to meet people at the store, especially neighborhood stores, where you would see your neighbors and friends. So, organizing a social grocery shopping experience was a day to get people off the couch.
Bankert wanted to shine a spotlight on her favorite grocery store, Living Fresh Market in Forest Park, IL a suburb 25 minutes from downtown Chicago, so, she invited folks to meet her there on a Saturday afternoon. It was a total volunteer experience. Bankert set up a table, brought some girlfriends to help out as she ran around greeting people, and brought print outs of her favorite recipes using food from Living Fresh Market.
