ileen Akbaraly founded Made For A

Woman (M4W) rooted in her

commitment to support the most

vulnerable population in her home of Madagascar - where she now employs over 350 Malagasy artisans. Her dedication to help build a more socially and environmentally responsible business model for the fashion industry is attracting interest from some of our favorite luxury brands. Her capsule collection with Chloé just launched online last week and will be in Chloé stores worldwide this spring and summer. Her first launch into apparel debuts this May with an exclusive collaboration with the luxury multi-brand store, MODES.

These will be the first of many collaborations, as Eileen's determination to become the industry's go-to for sustainable, plastic -free raphia production continues - in addition to Made For A Woman's own collections each season.

M4W vision is to lead by example by weaving the future of the fashion industry and changing the world, one creation at a time. Their mission is to create and implement a sustainable, scalable, and innovative business model to prove that genuine storytelling and transparency are key values to be successful in the world of fashion.

Their labels has a QR code that features a portrait of the artisan who created each product linking to her story. The goal is to build an online platform where clients are able to connect directly with the person who made their specific bag, to promote connection and communication between the “start” and “end” point of the production chain.
