Fete Lifestyle Magazine April 2019 - Spring Fashion Issue | Page 5

Welcome Fete Lifestyle Magazine readers. April's issue is all about fashion, but not necessarily the name brand clothes that we wear. Instead, our amazing contributors share their insights and experiences on what's in fashion for skin care as we change seasons, feeling in-and-out of fashion with your own personal style as you grow from childhood to adulthood, the latest styles in high end city living, and so much more.

Once again, I am writing to you far from home, this time in magical Thailand, where I am participating in a holistic detox retreat. What I am learning is that much of what we do to make ourselves feel more fashionable, whether in how we look or how we live, is actually highly toxic to our health. It is simply overwhelming. Did you know your skin absorbs the most toxins of any of our systems and that your breath can expel the most? I know you have heard your cell phone is bad for you, but have you seen the latest studies? The future seems bright with the conveniences of high tech living and smart grids in new buildings. Don't you wonder how all that electricity is affecting your own internal hardwiring?

Remember, what is in fashion at one time may not be a year or decade later. Keto is in, low-fat and sugar-free are out. Soy is out; Ghee is in. High waisted jeans came back and seem to be hanging on. What goes around comes around, but unless we get smart about our lifestyles, we might not be around to enjoy it.

Enough gloom and doom for now. After all, I am using technology to get these pages out to you now. In our upcoming travel issue, I will share more about my Thailand experience with tips on picking your own retreat and getting healthy at home.
