Fashion is a way of life for individuals and cultures around the world. It is constantly evolving and revolving from old to new. Fashion makes people unique and defines individuality. Many people think of the word fashion as “a popular trend”, but I prefer to use the definition as a “choice” of doing something in your own unique way.

Fashion is everywhere. It surrounds us and is incorporated into all aspects of our lives. The word fashion is used to describe more than just clothing. Fashion is dynamic – changing often and sometimes swiftly; taking the world by force.

Today we see fashionable restaurants with incredible food arrangements. Meal presentation and stylish ingredient pairings seem to be given as much attention as the taste of food. You can also find fashion in your home - from how you decorate your living room on a spring day to your bountiful table arrangement on Thanksgiving.

I understand fashion to be more of a verb, a word describing action, rather than an adjective. It can be used as an outlet for your internal voice to make an external statement about who you are and what you believe in. For instance, fashion can affect and change your mood and feelings. Putting on a colorful summer dress may make you feel happy. Wearing running shoes may motivate you. Have you ever felt powerful in a business suit or fabulous in a new dress? Dressing for success can be a powerful tool in creating a dynamic lifestyle.
