Why We Chose Them
I first saw The Stringdusters perform at DelFest in 2009 and was instantly hooked by their
amazingly fast, clean picking and the dynamic energy radiating from stage. But there was
also something more the band was offering up, something I couldn’t immediately describe,
that made me crave more shows. No matter where I saw them perform—intimate club
settings to sold out shows to festivals of all sizes—I found that I was always making new
friends on the scene; many of whom are among my closest friends today. After years of
getting dusted, I have come to realize that the “something more” The Stringdusters offer
up is a sense of community. Though I have heard that phrase all my life, I had never truly
known what a sense of community felt like until I met my Jamily, and no band but The
Infamous Stringdusters could have done so much, or have provided a better soundtrack, to
cultivate this welcoming, accepting, family vibe we all feel at The Festy.”
