any cancer.
Hereford city-based Yeleni offers a tailor made programme
of free complementary therapies plus on-going support via
self-help groups and workshops to anyone with any cancer, any
age and at any stage from diagnosis to post treatment. Yeleni
offers a full range of complementary therapies from
Acupuncture to Yoga and workshops e.g. meditation. Having
complementary therapies at Yeleni helps to support the
accommodation of the charity.
In addition to having received the Queen’s Award for
Voluntary Service in 2016, the centre recently attained the
Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM) for providing
an excellent standard of free complementary cancer care for
local people. Nicky Heath, the charity founder and CEO, and
her team and guests recently welcomed Herefordshire’s Lord
Lieutenant Lady Darnley and Mayor of Hereford Susan
Boulter to a celebration of the most recent achievement.
The charity continues to grow as more and more people seek
support, but as an independent charity it is entirely self-funded.
