ROYAL GETS ON HER BIKE

The Countess of Wessex , better known as PR girl , Sophie Jones who married Prince Edward is probably the only member of the Royal Family to take part in a sponsored bike ride .

The Countess , Patron of UK Lions Clubs took up the Diamond Challenge set up to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh ’ s Award scheme in which thousands of teenagers take part each year .

In September the riders cycled the 445 miles from the Palace of Holyrood House in Edinburgh to Buckingham Palace in London to help raised funds for the charity . Hereford Lions Club chipped in £ 100 to her sponsors list . Charnwood at Much Birch has recently become the first care home in Herefordshire to gain the ‘ Outstanding ’ hallmark given by the Care Quality Commission . And its sister home , Dulas Court at Eywas Harold joined the elite club just two weeks later when it , too , was granted the top award .

Both are part of Herefordshire Care Homes group of six homes built up by owner Karen Rogers and accolade is deserved recognition of her total commitment to provide the best possible care for her residents
