Review of City’s Community Work
FESTIVE NEWS • DECEMBER 2014 • PAGE 35
by Tracy Morris, Community
Development Officer
This year the Annual Parish Meeting celebrated the
work and achievements of community groups from
within the City of Hereford through the Hereford City
Community Group Achievement Awards. These
groups, which are all made up of volunteers, work
hard to improve community areas, have saved the
tennis courts in the local park, delivered some fantastic
free community events, and so much more. This year
the overall winners of the awards impressed the
judging panel by a staggering margin for their
achievements in just one year and won £1,000 towards
their next community project. This fledgling group,
having only been running a year, also won the
Hereford in Bloom Community Open Space Project
Trophy. Congratulations to Grandstand Road
Community Association.
The Annual Parish
Meeting also saw a
presentation of the very
prestigious’ Mayor’s
Commendation’ which
was awarded to Sally
Hollingshead in
recognition of all her
hard work and dedication
to North Tupsley Action
Group and the
community.
