For the 38th year Hereford Lions
Club took four teams of local
youngsters to play in an international
soccer tournament in Holland.
The tournament is organised by
the Brederodes club in Vianen and
after almost four decades close ties
and friendships have been built
between the two towns.
This year Hereford ended in third
place overall but all four teams
performed well and were a credit to
Hereford.
The under 12’s goalkeeper Sam
Key broke three fingers in a pretournament friendly which left him
side-lined is pictured with his team
and his arm heavily bandaged after
hospital treatment. The local club
provided a replacement keeper,
Barry Van Kouwen who did
exceptionally well.
