Lady Darnley, the Lord Lieutenant of
Herefordshire officially opened the
Cards for Good Causes charity
Christmas Card shop in All Saints
Church, Hereford on Monday (October
19) and the shop was quickly doing a
brisk trade.
The Hereford shop, part of a nationwide
chain which sells festive cards in the weeks
before Christmas to benefit some 25 national
and local charities, has contributed to the £20m
the organisation has raised over the last five
years. Sales in Hereford are more than 100,000
cards a year. Volunteers help man the shop.
Said Lady Darnley: “Buying your cards from
the Cards for Good Causes’ shop makes good
sense as you get good quality cards to send to
family and friends and at the same time making
a sizeable contribution to many worthwhile
charities.”
