• Dual colour blue and orange trails on this map specifically prohibit foot traffic to retain the integrity of the groomed trails. The only activities allowed on these trails are snowshoeing, fat biking and nordic-ski touring.

• Respect and kindness to all trail users! Some trails limit certain types of activities, please obey all signage. For suggested areas to go by activity type see below Suggested Activity-Based Routes.

• On multi-use trails with a set nordic track for classic skiing, please help retain the quality of the track by not biking, snowshoeing or walking on the classic XC ski track.

• Fat bikers, especially when riding down, please call out to provide early warning of other trail users on the trail and yield to them for safety reasons.

• Dogs are not allowed at Elk Valley Nordic Centre or the Fernie Golf Course. They are welcome everywhere else but only under full control or on leash, please adhere to signage.

• Groomed trails love snowshoers as they help pack down snow on the trails and at a similar width as a machine groomer. If you’ re keen, borrow( for free!) a pair of snowshoes and the pull groomer to help snowshoe groom key trails. Stop by The Guide’ s Hut or Gearhub for more details.
