Live theatre hits the stage this spring; One-woman play To See or Not to See; Homecoming by Ruth Bieber on April 27-28, is the intensely personal story of an immigrant family in post- war rural Alberta. As Bieber is blind, the audience has the option of wearing a blindfold to experience the artist’s world, and participants are invited back to watch the following day’s afternoon show without blindfolds at no additional cost. On May 25, MomGuilt/DadGuilt is a hilarious sketch/comedy improv show about the wonderful, exhausting, confusing, ridiculous world of parenting presented by Cranbrook’s Comedy Circus Collective. Recommended for 19+ due to mature content. Doors at 7pm, Tickets $16-22 on Eventbrite. The hugely popular Wednesday Outdoor Concert Series returns every Wednesday evening in July & August from 5:30pm-9pm. Live entertainment is an eclectic mix of Canadian and international indie, roots, blues and more. The event is free to attend, and there’s beverage gardens, food trucks and a kid’s craft tent to keep everyone satisfied. Limited seating, patrons are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs. Summer Club Cre8 is regular program of creative fun for kids aged 5-12. Fun and interactive art projects will keep kids occupied, with morning and/or afternoon options available. Half days are $28 and full days are $56 per child, with sibling discounts available. See weekly calendar P.10 for dates. The foyer gallery features a series of temporary exhibitions by local artists, with free opening receptions held on the last Thursday of every month.
