BBQ CHEF CHALLENGE

Celebrating the taste of Fernie and
the start of the summer culinary
calendar, the BBQ Chef Challenge
brings together a dozen of Fernie’s
amateur and professional chefs for a
throwdown over the grill. Each chef
will prepare unique dishes to sample;
try them all for the ticket price of
$50 which includes 2 drink tickets.

A CULTURAL WEEKEND
IN FERNIE
AUGUST 9-11, 2019
One of the biggest arts & culture
weekends in the valley kicks off
with Wapiti Music Festival on
August 9-10. Black Pistol Fire,
Carmanah, Nuela Charles and
Cranbrook Country-Roots band
The Parsons will take to the stage,
plus many more.
Discover local galleries and studios
as they open their doors as part of
the Columbia Basin Cultural Tour,
then take in the annual Show N’
Shine in Historic Downtown on
Sunday the 11th. For kids, there’s
the Griz Kidz Howl at the Moon
Campout – a fully supervised over-
night camping adventure at Fernie
Alpine Resort on the 10th, and on
the 11th experience Fernie’s great-
est children’s festival Bibbity Bob-
bity Boo at Rotary Park – a carnival
of colour, activities, music, stories,
bubbles and more. Fernie’s
Mountain Market happens
alongside the festival.
Canada Day Festival in Fernie July
1 features the Annual Cardboard
Boat Race on Maiden Lake, live
music on stage, the Fernie
Mountain Market and tons of fun
family events on the grounds at
City Hall.
