EXPLORING HISTORY TOURS WITH THE FERNIE MUSEUM FOR WALK DATES & LOCATIONS , SEE P15 . Expanding on successful past tours , the Fernie Museum has a captivating program of tours for the whole family to enjoy this summer . Exploring The Ruins Bus Tours will visit a variety of abandoned mine sites , where local historians will bring the mines and communities back to life through stories and insights .
Heritage Walking Tours invite you to step into the past with a local historian to explore Fernie through stories of Rum Runners , the devastating Great Fire of 1908 and the buildings and characters that have shaped the Historic Downtown .
If tombstones could talk , the stories they would tell ! Join knowledgeable guides on a walk through two local cemeteries and learn about the personalities and events that shaped the Elk Valley as we see it today .
WEDNESDAY EVENING CONCERT SERIES STATION SQUARE AT THE ARTS STATION Every Wednesday in July & August , Station Square at The Arts Station becomes a mini free festival . The season kicks off in high gear with lively Latin world beats from Calgary ’ s Los Morenos . Every week is a new revelation in summer sounds , including Golden-based rock band Easy Ruckus - July 19 , Fernie favourites Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra - Aug 2 , Kelowna folk due Tiger Moon - Aug 9 , and NYC ’ s blues guitarist Cécile Doo- Kingué - Aug 23 . Sip on a frosty beer or cider in the beverage garden and enjoy tasty bites from the food trucks . Activities for kids will keep the little ones happy . 5:30-9pm . Free admission .
