Wapiti Music Festival DOWNTOWN SUMMER SOCIALS & STREET EVENTS 2ND AVENUE/HISTORIC DOWNTOWN Historic Downtown Fernie is a fun place to be in summer with its eclectic boutiques, bustling patios, and incredible views, but even more so when there’s a special event to enjoy. The Out of the Box Dumpster Painting event is a fun live art expo on July 9th– watch as dumpsters are turned into works of art before they are distributed around Fernie. On the 3 other Sundays in July (2nd, 16th & 30th), 2nd Avenue becomes a pedestrianized funzone for the Summer Socials with kid’s activities, live entertainment and games for all to enjoy. On August 13th, the Show n’ Shine is a car enthusiast’s paradise, with dozens of classic and demo cars lining 2nd Avenue. Free admission. WAPITI MUSIC FESTIVAL AUGUST 11-12 | ANNEX PARK The sweet sounds of fresh Canadian Indie will ring out in the Rocky Mountains once again as Wapiti welcomes Tokyo Police Club and a stellar lineup of musicians for a festival that’s all about family, fun, and good times in the sun. BIBBITY BOBBITY BOO CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL AUGUST 13 | ROTARY PARK Continuing all the fun in the sun of Wapiti, Kids get their very own festival in beautiful Rotary Park on Sunday, August 13th. A circus-themed extravaganza of live entertainment, music, bubbles, sprinklers and facepainting for little ones to love! Join in at special activities and crafts, and munch on free watermelon in the shade following the costume parade. All free and all welcome! 9
