Fernie heritage library
The Fernie Heritage Library is a place to discover and nurture a love of literature and language. Fun and friendly, warm and welcoming; a sanctuary for all ages filled with every variety of media.
Drop in to pick up a book, bring the kids along for storytime or craft sessions, discover new technologies on a tech hub tour or register to attend a free event including the Booked! Fernie Writers Series. Curl up in one of the big leather armchairs beneath a sunny window on the second floor and enjoy the spectacular views of the Lizard Range and Mt. Fernie. More than you imagine, the Fernie Heritage Library brings words to life.
BUILDING FERNIE’ S LITERARY HERITAGE
Housed in the beautiful former Customs & Post Office building in the heart of Fernie, the Fernie Heritage Library has provided library services and programs for over one hundred years. The Library has been recognized for its excellence in community programming and offers three floors of books, magazines, and reference materials, a research and study room, computer use, fax & photocopying services and an extensive Tech hub offering audio, video, 3D printing and media technologies.
Programming includes weekly storytime sessions, games and craft events, workshops, literary-themed activities and seasonal celebrations including the popular Christmas by the Book event on December 20.
