Finding her passion for community endeavours curtailed by the challenges of the pandemic years , owner Aysha Haines was feeling unfulfilled and unproductive when she was inspired to begin making candles from home . Discussing the idea later , sister Joanna reminded her of her scent allergy and suggested that candlemaking might not be the best fit . Undeterred , the siblings continued the conversation and recognized a need for a refillery for the Fernie area .
Following that conversation in the fall of 2020 , things moved quickly . The pair signed a lease in October and opened their doors in January of 2021 offering a range of reduced- and no-packaging cosmetic and homecare refills , plus a range of considered and thoughtful products that promote sustainability and reusability , reduce waste and feel good to own and use .
The ever-expanding product line includes Simply Wild body products and Soco Soaps from Fernie ; Skwalwen Botanicals plant-based skincare from a Squamish First Nation ethnobotanist ; Porter food and beverage containers by W & P ; astrological planners with vegan leather covers by Magic of I from Australia ; Savon de Marseille handmilled soap on a rope ; Bkind and Mad Hippie cosmetics ; Bambu , Stasher and Goldilocks eco-friendly dining , serving and storage ; a wide selection of refillable products from Drift , Oneka , Wildcraft and Carma Organics , and much more .
