THIS SUMMER AT THE ARTS STATION
Station Square and the former CPR building will be buzzing this summer with colour and sound and activity . Many workshops will be held on the deck below the permanent shade structures to take advantage of the beautiful Fernie weather .
The Arts Station will participate in the Columbia Basin Culture Tour on July 29 & 30 with quilting demonstrations and workshops in printmaking and pottery . Find local art to take home in the community art show and find out more about the history of the Arts Station .
Drop by in July and August for the very popular Wednesday Night Social Outdoor Concert and Night Market , with beverage garden , food trucks and activities for kids . See calendar on P32 for lineup .
The Out of the Box Dumpster Project returns with a week of live painting starting on August 18 , rounding out the week with a chance to meet the artists on Wednesday 23 and live music from the Brass Monkey Band .
Art for Adults includes Plein Air Pod on Mondays from 6pm , June - August . This event is not led by an instructor but instead encourages artists to learn from each other and features a new location every week – visit the website for details . Art on the Deck is an instructorled event , focusing on a different medium each week . Thursdays at 1pm from June 15 .
Discover local art with a new show in the foyer gallery every month . Opening night includes a social event with cash bar and complimentary nibbles , and a chance to meet the artists . See calendar on P32 for lineup .
Club Cre8 is a weekly arts camp for kids aged K – G6 . Funky art projects and chilled out vibes make this a great option for creative kids . Full and halfday options , Mondays at 9.30am from July 10 .
