THIS SUMMER AT THE ARTS STATION
Following extensive renovations to facilities on the ground floor and pottery studio , the Arts Station is ready for a summer of great events and activities . Many workshop events will be held on the deck this summer to take advantage of the beautiful Fernie weather and the new permanent shade structures . Gallery shows typically open on the last Thursday of each month and can be viewed throughout the following month , and the Wednesday Socials return with an exciting lineup of live music .
Club Cre8 is a weekly arts camp for kids aged K – G6 . Every Monday from June 27 – Aug 29 , except Aug 1 & 22 . 10am – 3:30pm . Full and half-day options available , bookings required .
Shine Theatre Camp for ages 7-12 will be held on July 5-7 . Join Sadie and Rachel for a 3-day performing workshop featuring singing , acting , poetry and movement , with a final performance for family and friends .
Art for Adults includes Plein Air Pod on Tuesdays from 4-6pm starting June 21 . This self-guided event encourages artists to meet , collaborate and learn from other creatives . Art on the Deck is offered on Thursdays from 1-3pm from June 16 . Different mediums will be explored with demos and instruction led by experts .
The Out of the Box Dumpster Project now features a whole week of live painting on 6th St from Aug 25 , with the Dumpster Social rounding out the week on Aug 31 with music , art and a chance to meet the artists .
The Wednesday Socials are one of Fernie ’ s hottest tickets – but you don ’ t even need a ticket to attend ! Live music , DJ support , food trucks and crafts for kids . Here ’ s a sneak peak of some of the highlights , see calendars for the full lineup :
